The Infectious Diseases/AIDS Clinical Trials Unit Program

Since 1987, the Infectious Diseases/AIDS Clinical Trials Unit (IDACTU) at New York City’s Beth Israel Medical Center has been at the forefront of the fight to improve the clinical care and quality of life for people living with The Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan HIV/AIDS.

The Beth Israel Infectious Diseases/AIDS Clinical Trials Unit works to develop cutting-edge medications and innovative strategies to treat HIV AIDS and HIV-related opportunistic infections.

HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials in Many Categories

We are currently providing access to a variety of drug studies including:

  • research into novel antiretroviral therapies and medicines
  • trials of immunomodulators like therapeutic vaccines, and
  • studies of neurologic and metabolic complications of HIV

Community Outreach

In addition to conducting clinical trials and drug studies for treatments for HIV AIDS, New York's Beth Israel Hospital AIDS Clinical Trials Unit is involved in community outreach programs aimed at persons living with HIV/AIDS. We offer consultation services for healthcare providers and community based organizations
